ANOTHER LIGHTNING COACH SELECTED TO MOVE ON TO A HEAD COLLEGE POSITION

We would like to congratulate Kerry Connolly who was selected to be the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue. Kerry began in his new position earlier this week.

Kerry is very well known to basketball here on Long Island. He began his coaching career at St. Bernard’s CYO in Levittown and then moved on to be an Assistant Coach under the legendary Rich Slater at Long Island Lutheran High School. He was always a Lightning coach while at St bernard and Long Island Lutheran HS. Kerry began his college career at University of Florida as a staff administrator. He then moved on to Columbia University as an Assistant Coach. Kerry returned to Long Island last year to get married and resumed his career as a Lightning coach.

We are so proud of Kerry as his career continues to rapidly move forward. He will head a Division lll program that attracts many players from Long Island. We are especially elated that Kerry will continue in his role as a Lightning Coach in our girls program.

This is yet another example of the high caliber of coaches that contributes to the sustained success of Lightning.

Finally, we are certain that Coach Connolly will be recruiting Lightning players for many years to come. He assures us that he will never forget where he came from!

We wish Coach Connolly all the success possible and pledge our continued support to him.
