Super League Commissioner’s Report #4

Thank you for the continued support and for the very positive response to this ongoing method of communication. We truly appreciate the engagement from coaches, players, and families across Super League.

1. Scheduling Progress & February Break
We continue to make substantial progress on scheduling the balance of the season. Our scheduling committee meets daily not only to fill games, but to carefully evaluate matchups based on registrations, records, divisional designations (Division I, II, and III), and team availability. This week, we expect to complete most of the February schedule.

It is absolutely necessary that all coaches and administrators monitor the schedule every day. We make adjustments regularly, and it is not possible for us to contact every coach regarding every change. Please check your schedule frequently to ensure there have been no updates or changes affecting your team. This is very, very important.

We will observe a February break from February 14 through February 21. League play will resume on Sunday, February 22.
If any team is fully available during the break and prefers not to take that week off, please let us know. We do have court space and will find games where possible.

2. IMPORTANT: Divisional Placement & Standings
THIS IS A MAJOR POINT OF EMPHASIS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

Standings will now appear based on divisional placement. Divisions reflect both what teams initially requested and our evaluation based on on-court performance. If a team requested Division III but is currently 4–0 or 5–0, that team will likely be moved to Division II.
These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, with fairness, safety, and competitive balance as the guiding principles.

3. Schedule & Score Verification (Critical)
Again, we strongly ask that all coaches check their schedules on a regular basis, as games change due to cancellations or requested adjustments. We realize this is repetitive, but it reflects how important it is for everyone to consistently look for and monitor changes.

Please also make sure that every game has a score posted. If a score is missing, contact us immediately so we can add it.
Equally important, please always verify the accuracy of posted scores. Incorrect scores can impact standings and playoff eligibility, and we want to avoid any issues later in the season.

4. Referees & Game Coverage
We continue to encounter challenges in consistently providing two referees per game. This is not unique to Super League—it is a national referee shortage, especially during January when middle school, high school, and college seasons are all in full swing.

Our first priority is always to have two referees assigned. When that is not possible, particularly on weekends, games will be covered with one referee so that play can continue.
Our assigners, Mike and Brandon, do an outstanding job under very difficult circumstances, and we greatly appreciate their dedication to both coverage and quality.

If a referee is late or does not hustle, please contact me directly. These issues affect the quality of our league, and we take them very seriously.

5. Weather Monitoring & Potential Schedule Adjustments
As I write this update, we are closely monitoring reports of a potentially significant storm expected on Sunday. We will continue to monitor conditions and communicate frequently.
If conditions warrant, we may move the entire Sunday schedule to another Sunday later in the season to minimize confusion and simplify makeups.

In Closing
Please be assured that my staff and I are working extremely hard every day to make your Super League experience as enjoyable, fair, and competitive as possible. We devote a great deal of time to ensuring balance in every matchup and maintaining staff presence at as many games as possible.

Thank you to Joe and Mike for their continued on-site efforts, and special recognition to Adam, who spends several hours each day managing scheduling—an extremely challenging task even with advanced technology.

Thank you again for your continued support and commitment to Super League.
