Update on Island Garden Super League Fall Season

Dear Coaches and Club Directors,

As promised, I want to continue communicating with you openly and transparently about our progress this fall. As of this evening, virtually all teams should now have their full schedule of eight games. A few teams are still awaiting completion due to change requests that came in as recently as this afternoon. Please know that we are working on this every day — often for more than ten hours — to make sure everything is correct and fair for all.

I want to take a moment to commend Joe, Adam, and our intern Nick for their tremendous dedication in navigating this very challenging scheduling process. Their commitment has been extraordinary.

As a reminder, we are using a new AI-based scheduling system that is still learning how to handle the unique challenges of our Super League. In fact, the company behind it — which also handles scheduling for the NBA, WNBA, G-League, MLB, NHL, MLS, and major college conferences — told us that our league has been the most complex scheduling project they’ve ever faced.

While we expected a smoother transition, the lessons learned this Fall are positioning us for a far stronger Winter Super League. We’ll be making enhancements to both our staffing and our scheduling applications to ensure an even better experience ahead.

If what I am saying does not match your experience and you are continuing to encounter serious issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at 516-351-6642.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and partnership. We hope you and your players are enjoying the Fall Super League and the great competition it provides.

Warm regards,
Jim Fox
