Dear Northwell Island Garden Community,
As we continue through the fall season of 2024, as a leading sports organization for both youth and adults, we are grateful for your continued support, participation, and patience. While we experience our transition into the future, we want to assure you that our commitment to you and excellence in all our programs remains as strong as ever.
All aspects of our organization continue to run smoothly, meeting the same standards you have come to expect. Some of these aspects include but are not limited to; tournaments, leagues, Lightning Basketball’s creation and continuation of teams, and training clinics. We are excited and proud to continue building a strong future together. We are blessed to have partners and affiliates who share our mission and vision. We enjoy the use of more than twenty facilities where we host are core activities. We are grateful to be surrounded by such great positive partners.
Some of what we have been up to in recent weeks;
- Recently, our staff and teams were part of the second annual “AAU Basketball Taking Over Times Square”. Putting the spotlight on basketball in the center of the greatest city in the world was a remarkable sight. For a second year, the cooperation/partnership between basketball, our youth, and their communities along with the NYPD was proudly on display.
- Our Fall Leagues for Youth and Adults are both experiencing a greater number of teams participating than in previous years.
- Lightning Basketball is continuing the training programs for both Boys and Girls as well as hosting several tournaments this fall.
- The 30th Annual Northwell Island Garden Winter Super League will be commencing in late November/early December. We are thrilled and look forward to that outstanding league that traditionally includes 250 plus teams. Be on the lookout for the brochure in the next week or so.
Our mission to empower youth through sports is strong as ever, and we cannot wait to share our future developments with you as they happen.
